My life tip for today is part 4 in my 10 part series, 10 ways to improve your career from Brian Tracy. Number 4 is money. You need money to make money right? You always hear that. But you know what you really need, is you need to learn to save money. Because money gives you freedom. What if the opportunity of a lifetime comes along and you don't have the money to take advantage of it? You need to learn to save money. And just start small. Save a little bit of money every day, every week, every month and as you save a little bit, you learn to save a little more and you learn to save a little more and pretty soon you might become addicted to having money in the bank! It's so important, we think about money giving us the freedom to do stuff, go where we want, things like that. But money also gives you the freedom to take advantage of opportunities when they come about. If there's something you really want to do, something to improve your career, a class a seminar, things like that, you have to have the money to do it. So start now, just save a little bit, I don't care if it''s a dollar a week, but start, and you're on your way! What if You Never Take Action on Your Goals? Motivate Yourself!

My life tip for today is, you don't have to hit bottom, to move up! I was thinking the other day, why is it that so many people who are successful have these stories of hitting bottom? And I think it's because of fear. Cause almost always, when we don't do something, it's because we're afraid. Very often it's because we're afraid of rejection right? We're afraid of the rejection of people we don't even know and will never see again. But we're afraid, fear is what stops us. But people who've hit bottom, people who have lost everything, have lost fear. Because there's nothing left to fear. What could be worse than losing everything you've got, hitting bottom, some people have a story of even living on the street! Once you've done that, there isn't any fear and they're able to move forward without fears. I think that's one of the reasons that sports like skydiving are so popular too. You know if you go skydiving, that's a huge fear, it's death right? Death coming at you as the ground speeds up towards you. After that, making a sales call doesn't seem so scary. But you know what? You don't have to face death, you don't have to lose everything, you can flip the tables on yourself. Just give yourself a little reverse motivation. Think, what if you never take action? On that goal you want to do, on that thing you want to accomplish. What if you never do it? What if you don't do it for a whole year? What are you going to miss out on? What are the people you care about going to miss out on? What if you don't do it for 5 years?What if you don't do it for 10 years? What if you come to the end of your life and you haven't done that thing. Now your life is over and it's too late. And then turn it around. What if you do? What if you take action? What are you going to gain? What things are you going to have in your life that you didn't have before? What are you going to be able to do for the people you care about, the people you love, the people who depend on you? What if you do? What if it works? It's worth a try isn't it? Are You Procrastinating? Here's an Idea on How to Get Started!

Hi this is Life Coach Trish,
My life tip for you today is, if you had your life to live over, do you think you could do more? Do you think you could do better? Probably, yes. Well I have good news for you, your life isn't over. So start right now, doing more and doing better. My friend Les Brown says, "You don't have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great." So here's an idea for you; what is the least you could do? That thing that you've been wanting to do, that project you've been putting off, the thing you want to learn. Whatever it is you want to do, what is the least you could do? Do that! Write down the 3 smallest actions you could take to get you started and get started. Those actions will start to build momentum and you'll want to do more and it'll be easier. So there you go, get started.

You Are Either Wining or You Are Learning, there is no fail!

Hi this is Coach Trish,
My life tip for today is something I learned in my mastermind. You're either winning or you're learning. And that's the way we look at everything that doesn't go exactly as we had wanted it to right? A lot of times we tend to look at those things as failures. But not so. If you tried something, that was brave, that was courageous, that was stepping out there. That's not a failure no matter how it went. And if it didn't go the way you wanted it to go, you definitely learned something. Reminds me of when I was a kid, I had a pony, and it threw me off and ran over me. Well, that felt like a big failure at the time. I was hurt for a long time, I didn't get back on that pony for a month! But when I did, I was so much a better rider. I was more careful, I paid more attention, I held on a little tighter to the reigns, I just directed the horse a little bit better. It really did make me better, I was learning. So there you go. If something doesn't go exactly as you wanted, don't be upset, look for the lesson in it and how can you do better next time

Fear Will Disguise Itself as the Voice of Reason, Don't Be Fooled!

Hi this is Coach Trish,
Today at the Women's Wisdom meeting, which is an organization which I am a part of, Rhonda Britten came and spoke and she spoke on fear and she said some very interesting things. Beware when fear tries to trick you. Fear will try to trick you that it's the voice of reason or your intuition or the voice of spirit. And fear is just as smart as you, it's just as educated as you, it's just as spiritual as you are, it's tricky! So listen to the difference between the voice of fear and the voice of spirit, God, your intuition, that internal voice that you know is guiding you. The internal voice speaks about possibilities and gentle caution and the future. But fear speaks of the past. Fear speaks things like, "remember the last time you tried this? What if, you know, something happens like that?" Caution, or the voice of reason will say something more like, "Slow down, think about it, what do you think?" Fear is fast, the voice of your intuition is slow. So learn the difference, don't let fear trick you, learn the difference between the two. Take a deep breath, sit quietly for a moment and you'll be able to tell.

Take Every Opportunity to Enjoy Yourself (with or without a Snake)!

This is coach Trish,
One of my Grandmother's favorite movies was Pride and Prejudice. There was a line in that movie that the mother says to one of the daughters and it's kind of a funny line because the daughter is completely irresponsible but the mother is waiving her goodbye and she says, "take every opportunity to enjoy yourself."  I love that line, even though she way saying it to exactly the daughter that didn't need to hear it! So I'm out here shooting videos and look what I found. Its a little snake. I kind of live out in the country, my husband calls me and he says, "hey you want to see a snake?" And I'm like, "cool, I should shoot a video with it." I'm going to name him Fred for the 5 minutes that I have him and then I'm going to let him go. He's a little baby Rosy Boa and I'm just going to enjoy him for a moment. So take every opportunity to enjoy yourself and strange things may appear! Hmmmm he's wiggling a lot, I think he really wants me to let him go but I don't quite want to let him go yet. He's very pretty. Snakes are very strong. So there you have it, a snake for you today and take every opportunity to enjoy yourself. I'm going to put Fred back up in the rocks on the mountain now. "Come on Fred, lets go."

I Am Human and I Overcome Fears Everyday

Hi this is Coach Trish and I Am Human. 
A Human Project is all about bringing the humanity back into business. so I'm going to share a little secret about myself. One of the things I teach on is overcoming fear and guess what? I'm scared out of my mind all the time! But I work on it daily. I'm scared to do things, I do them anyway. My big event, back in November, that was probably one of the scariest things I have ever done. I asked all these big names to come and speak at the event and at first I was scared they would say no. But I asked anyway. . . . . and they said yes. Then I was scared that I wouldn't be able to, you know, negotiate the hotel, get the sound equipment and get everything that, you need to have to put on an event . . . . and people helped me and I did it. Then all of a sudden the event was coming up and I didn't have anybody coming! So I was scared to death that nobody was going to show up for all these wonderful speakers that I had. But you know what? Again, I reached out for help, I worked on it every single day and it worked. It came to be. So just face the fear and get over it. Whatever it is that you need to get over, face it and move on. I just thought I'd share that with you. Just because I teach on overcoming fear does not mean that I don't have any fears. And probably most of the other people you know too whatever they teach on, the reason they teach on it is because it's something that they personally battle with on a daily basis or they have battled with it in the past.

Start Small and Take Back Your Power

One of the first challenges I decided to deal with was physical. There was some abuse in my childhood and I am a small person. I am 5 foot 2 and I felt vulnerable and fragile. I felt very at risk physically. When I was in college, walking around at night was very scary to me. I felt I had no physical power. I felt small and powerless. But I honestly don’t think it had much to do with my actual size. I bet you’ve had times in your life when you felt small and powerless even if you are big and tall. Well I didn’t like it! I didn’t like it then and I don’t like it now. So I started looking for ways to take back my power.

One of the first things I did was, I signed up for a self-defense course. Just a one time thing, a two-hour self-defense course for women. That seemed simple enough, something I could compete in one day. And you know what? It was great! I felt a little stronger, a little safer, and a little more powerful!

Then I bought pepper spray and took a one hour certification on how to use it. And I bought a little self-defense stick that goes on my key chain. Two more things I could do each in one day or less, moving me into my power.

Is there something you could do to make yourself feel more powerful? If there is an area in your life where you want to take back your power, start small. Think of something you could do in one day that would move you into your power just a little. In fact, think of three things you could do in a day. Now you don’t have to do them all in the same day, but three things that could each be done in one day. Now write them down and commit to do at least one of them by the end of the week.

Congratulations! You have begun to Take Back Your Power!
