![]() Hi, this is Coach Trish and today's life tip is the 2nd in a 10 part series from a Brian Tracy program that I'm listening to. 10 ways to improve your life, your career and improve your income. Way number 2 is skill. Skill is what you train at, the expertise you work at. Lots of people have talent, but someone who will actually work at honing their skill will always excel over someone with talent, no matter how much talent they have. And everybody wants something right, everybody wants to achieve their goals but not everybody is willing to put in the work to develop the skill to be in the top 10% of their industry. That's what you want to do, develop the skill, read the books, go to the courses, practice, hone your skill, till you're in the top 10% of your field. You will be paid like the top 10%, recognized like the top 10%. All the rewards are in that top 10% and you can get there, simply by honing your skill. Put in the effort, be one of the few who's willing to do the work. If you'd like a 30 minute complimentary consultation, go to my website and request it on the contact me page. And always remember, YOU ARE POWERFUL! For the Video version of this post, see below.

![]() This is Coach Trish and today's life tip is going to be the first in a 10 part series from a Brian Tracy program that I'm listening to. 10 ways you can increase your income, improve your life, improve your career. First one is education. For every additional year of education you have, it means about $200,000 over your lifetime. Now this doesn't have to be just traditional education. Although that's what the studies were mostly done on, high school versus college, versus graduate school. An extra $200,000 for every additional year of education. But if you are continually educating yourself, your income can continually go up. It doesn't have to be, like I said, college or high school, it doesn't have to be traditional. It's seminars, books, tapes, making your car a moving university. Whenever I'm in my car I'm always listening to cds, listening to tapes, I'm listening to Les Brown, Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn, Anthony Robbins is another one of my favorites. Constantly be educating yourself. The average person reads 1 or 2 books a year. You can easily read 2 books a month. At the end of a couple of years, you will be an expert in your field. So continuous education. For a complimentary consultation, go to my website and request it on the contact me page. And always remember, YOU ARE POWERFUL! He would say, "Take my advice, I'm not using it!" And that made me think, do you use your own advice? Cause I don't use my own advice a lot of times. If you think about it, we know so much! You have learned so much in your lifetime, that if you stop and think and just maybe ask for answers, let your mind churn, you will come up with the answers. You will come up with what you need to do. You probably know what you need to do, but are you doing it? Are you following your own advice? If you're not, sit down for a moment with yourself and imagine you're talking with your best friend or your child or your nephew, someone who would take advice from you. And they ask you, whatever it is that you're pondering in your life. Whatever that thing is that you haven't been able to figure out or you can't decide on. Imagine someone asking you that question, how would you tell them to figure it out? What would you suggest that they do? Bet you're bottom dollar, that is what you should be doing! So there you have it. Are you taking your own advice? For a 30 minute complimentary coaching session, request it on the contact me page. And always remember, YOU ARE POWERFUL! Along with being a big Les Brown fan I am a big Anthony Robbins fan. One of the things Anthony talks about is that you can change your life in a second. You can change your life in an instant, with a decision. That's the most powerful thing that we can do to change our lives, decide to. So think about the things that you've been putting off, changes you want to make, why haven't you done them? There may be lots of reasons but when it really comes down to it, you have not decided to change. So one of the things I'm deciding to do is I'm going to start posting these videos in the morning. I'm a bit of a procrastinator so I've been posting these videos at 11 o'clock at night. Cause I'm like, "I have to get one up today!" I may still shoot them at night, but I'm going to start posting videos every morning. So that's something I'm deciding to do. So that means I have to act in advance. I have to have a video done cause I am not going to get up in the morning at 6 o'clock in the morning to post a video by 8, that has to be done the day before. So what is it in your life that you've been wanting to do, meaning to do but you haven't done? Decide and get it done! For a 30 minute complimentary coaching session, request it on the contact me page. And always remember, YOU ARE POWERFUL! Whether you're speaking to a group or whether you're one person or whether you're trying to convince your kids of something, there's 3 things you have to remember. These are from my mentor Les Brown. Who are you? What have you got? And why do I care? Now by who are you, I mean why are you qualified to speak about what you're speaking about? Did you have some experience that made you qualified, do you have some education that makes you qualified, why are you qualified? What have you got? Now, tell me what you've got. What is your message that you're trying to get across? And then, why do I care? How can I use it? How's it going to affect my life? How's it going to help me to make my life better? So there you go, when you're speaking to someone, let them know; why are you qualified to speak on it, what have you got and how can it help them to improve their life or get what they want. And that will help you get your message across. Courtesy of Les Brown! For a 30 minute complimentary coaching session, request it on the contact me page. And always remember, YOU ARE POWERFUL! That's how we get things done. Great things are rarely done when you're balanced. However, beware that it does not become a habit. Because that is no way to live your life on an ongoing basis. For example, when I was throwing my event, LIFE 2013 back in November, I was completely off balance for 3, maybe 4 weeks before the event. But I needed to be, my entire focus was on that event, making it a success and that's where it needed to be. But after the event was over, I needed to find my balance again. I needed to sleep again, spend some time with my kids, re-find that balance. And sometimes it's okay to get off balance, we need to get things done. But if you stay there long term, other areas of your life will start to suffer. So every now and then, just take a look at your life and are you feeding your spirit, your soul? Are you spending time with the people closest to you, feeding those relationships? Are you taking care of your health? Are you sleeping? Are you taking care of your business, your finances? These are all areas we need to focus on, but every now and then, one of them will need more attention than the others, and that's okay. But just find your way back when it's all over. For a 30 minute complimentary coaching session request it on the contact me page. And always remember YOU ARE POWERFUL! I was thinking the other day, why is it that so many people who are successful have these stories of hitting bottom? And I think it's because of fear. Cause almost always, when we don't do something, it's because we're afraid. Very often it's because we're afraid of rejection right? We're afraid of the rejection of people we don't even know and will never see again. But we're afraid, fear is what stops us. But people who've hit bottom, people who have lost everything, have lost fear. Because there's nothing left to fear. What could be worse than losing everything you've got, hitting bottom, some people have a story of even living on the street! Once you've done that, there isn't any fear and they're able to move forward without fears. I think that's one of the reasons that sports like skydiving are so popular too. You know if you go skydiving, that's a huge fear, it's death right? Death coming at you as the ground speeds up towards you. After that, making a sales call doesn't seem so scary. But you know what? You don't have to face death, you don't have to lose everything, you can flip the tables on yourself. Just give yourself a little reverse motivation. Think, what if you never take action? On that goal you want to do, on that thing you want to accomplish. What if you never do it? What if you don't do it for a whole year? What are you going to miss out on? What are the people you care about going to miss out on? What if you don't do it for 5 years? What if you don't do it for 10 years? What if you come to the end of your life and you haven't done that thing. Now your life is over and it's too late. And then turn it around. What if you do? What if you take action? What are you going to gain? What things are you going to have in your life that you didn't have before? What are you going to be able to do for the people you care about, the people you love, the people who depend on you? What if you do? What if it works? It's worth a try isn't it?
